In 2020 Feed Appeal launched a Rural Schools grants program in response to what we believed was a gap in the sector. The program was established to help fund schools breakfast clubs in regional and remote communities making sure students had access to food.
The impact of Covid-19 has seen a significant increase in the demand for food relief across the country. State and Federal governments have responded to this with significant funding being made available across the sector. Foodbank Australia has been granted significant funding to grow their school breakfast program nationally. Feed Appeal is very supportive of collaboration and we try to minimise duplication wherever possible.
Feed Appeal has decided not to continue with our Rural schools’ grants program as we believe with the funding provided to Foodbank schools will have access to a great program which will help achieve our collective goal – all kids having access to food when required and becoming the best they can!
If your school needs help, with a school breakfast program we encourage you contact Foodbank in your state. If you need support with a schools lunch program, contact Eat Up Australia.
